Enhance Home Décor with Art

Add to the fun of your Parade of Homes Tour by stopping by the Dixie Watercolor Society’s (DWS) “Spring Art Show and Competition”. If an incredible new piece of original artwork would enhance your home, this show should be included in your itinerary. The DWS event will showcase a huge selection of original, framed paintings by local artists at reasonable prices.

“The theme of this Spring’s competition is ‘Exciting Use of Light and Shadow’”, says DWS President Karen March. “This is an amazing display of art. We have some very fine artists in our society competing in this event. Each artist has been asked to portray their interpretation of the theme.” In addition to the usual “transparent” watercolors, DSW members have been invited to compete using other water-based mediums such as acrylic, water based oils, etc.

March also explains that there will be ongoing artist demonstrations throughout the duration of the show “providing interest for kids of all ages.” There is no admission fee and all are welcome to explore the possibilities of this year’s theme.

The “Spring Art Show and Competition” runs for seven days from February 15 through 22 (Closed Sunday). The Hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm each day. The location is the foyer of the “Main Street Plaza” located at 20 North Main (formerly the Blue Bunny building) in St George. There is loads of free parking in the terrace behind the Plaza, with handicap access.
